D'eco Llanidloes, welsh gifts, welsh presents, gifts from wales, presents from wales

The Shop

Welsh Heritage Gifts is owned by Ruth Jones and Lesley-Ann Dupré, who both have Welsh ancestry – and know how important it is to know your roots.

The business is run from Lesley-Ann’s beautiful shop “D’Eco” situated in Llanidloes right in the heart of Wales and the idea was born when Ruth spent hours one Sunday afternoon hopelessly searching the internet for quality Welsh presents to send to her relatives as Christmas gifts only to find the usual rugby shirts, daffodil pictures and stuffed dragons, Ruth asked her friend Lesley-Ann to make a selection of the lovely Welsh items she has for sale in her shop in Llanidloes, parcel them up and post them off for her.

When her relatives received the gifts they were delighted.

Ruth Jones

I was born in Barry, South Wales and was a student at Aberystwyth University. I studied computer science and initially worked in the south of England before moving back to Wales 16 years ago when my first daughter was born. I now live in the village of Trefeglwys in the centre of Wales.

My greatest passion is horse riding which is one of the reasons I moved back to Wales. I have three daughters who all ride and we regularly set off for days out on horseback in the hills of Mid Wales.

I run an internet marketing company Ellajen Internet Services which develops and promotes the Welsh Heritage Gifts website.

Lesley Ann Dupré

I was born in Malta but grew up in England – from Cornwall to North Yorkshire. I have an honours degree in history and have spent most of my life in the Netherlands, where my daughters were born. I stayed there until five years ago, when I discovered Mid Wales, where I share (and am renovating) a house which dates back in part to the 17th century with my three cats.

I am passionate about many things – from fair trade to sustainability and volunteer in many roles. I run a shop, D’Eco, where everything is either locally made, handmade, recycled, organic, fair trade (or a combination of these) in the centre of Llanidloes.
